Simple yet concise, spiritual yet vital, expressive freehand Chinese painting is an unique form of art. Various techniques and subjects like flowers, insects and landscape are taught. Aesthetic effect and appreciation is also learned through the study of great masters’ works. With practices, students surprise themselves with their ability.

Acrylic / Oil Painting 油畫
Color mixing, matching, strokes, tones are learned through landscape and still life. Besides creating their own masterpieces, work of great masters are studied. Program adjusts to individual student. Sketching skill is required.

Watercolour Painting 水彩畫
In this lesson, students will explore the medium of watercolor paints. They will observe basic watercolor painting techniques (such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and dry-on-dry). Then students will experiment with these techniques on small squares of watercolor paper.
Still Life Sketching 靜物素描
Object drawing and still life composition can develop sense of observing and revealing. Line, shape, form and colour are the basic visual elements which are useful in all still life themes, plants and landscape. Classes also practice on colour mixing, matching, strokes, tone, light and composition.

Chinese Calligraphy 中國書法
For centuries, the Chinese literati were expected to master the art of calligraphy. It is the most prestigious art form. Through learning of various scripts (starts by Kaishu) and the styles of distinguished ancient calligraphers, students improve their writing and understanding of Chinese characters and poems. The usage of both ink brushes and calligraphy pens are taught.
